Another action packed weekend for the Cannons, all 3 teams playing, and Div 2 playing twice due to an August game being moved to this weekend to accommodate a rescheduled provincial match.
Div 1 gets us started against East Coast, in a game that could shape the season - a win keeps us in touch with the leader, a loss will leave us with a less secure hold of a top 3 spot. With a few first choice players unavailable, Gurpreet Sidhu comes in for his Div 1 debut having impressed in his first few games since joining.
Div 2 plays Saturday in a top of the table clash against Avengers, then on Sunday against East Coast for the 3rd successive weekend. We've been able to name strong teams on both days, with a good mix of pace and spin, and a top order full of capable batsmen who will be looking to put scores on the board.
Div 3 plays East Coast on Sunday, having lost to them last week. Steve Smith takes the reins in the absence of regular skipper Souvik Mitra, and we welcome Juben Roche who makes his Cannons debut having joined this week. We're looking for a win this week to keep touch with the other teams in the standings.
