Our Div 1 team had a win and a loss from their two weekday evening matches either side of this past weekend, sandwiching Sunday washouts for our Div 2 and 3 teams.
On Friday, some tight bowling kept Titans to only 62 from their first 12 overs, but good hitting from their middle and lower order took them to 8/145 off 20. Zeeshan Ansari was the best of our bowlers taking 3/17 off 4 overs through the middle, while Antony Roche showed that he should probably bowl more often taking 3/26 off 3 in the latter stages. After losing both openers within the first 2 overs, our chase spluttered, only Arslan Khan with 28 off 27 impressing in the top order. With hopes looking lost, Zee smashed a 19 ball half century before falling the next ball, hitting 6 sixes in a welcome return to his top form. Unfortunately he couldn't get the support he needed from the other end, and we fell 15 runs short. Scorecard
Tuesday evening saw us up against East Coast CC. This time, the bowlers stayed on top for the entire 20 overs, only allowing them to score 98 for the loss of 7 wickets. Again it would be spin on top, with Daksh Talwar taking 3/10 off his 4 overs, with skipper Sagar Mandhan taking 2 of his own. Danish Khan made a great start to our chase with 43 from 34 balls (2x4, 4x6), before Satnam Singh made sure of it and gave the boys an early finish with an unbeaten 33 from only 14 balls. This included 5 sixes, the last 4 of them coming from successive balls to end the match. A convincing win to end a 4 game losing streak, good to see some key bats find form over the two games.
