The regular season came to an end this past weekend with both our Div 1 and Div 2 teams playing games that would not impact their place in the standings.
On Friday afternoon, our Div 2 team saw their season come to a close with a game against Scotia Strikers CC. Bowling first, Hiren Patel found his best form taking 4/12 off 4 overs, twice being on a hattrick. Promisingly for the future, Tanmay Rajput (2/14 off 4) and Ragu Ravichandran (2/21 off 4) both stepped up from lower divisions and showed what they are capable of. Strikers ended at 9/108 off 20. Our openers put on 35 to indicate an easy chase, but the loss of 3 wickets in 4 balls put the pressure on. Priyank Shah took over at this point with this best knock of the season, finding scoring easy as he hit 48 off 32. His dismissal was the start of a collapse of 4 for 9, leaving the scores tied with our last pair at the crease. Skipper Tushar Sehgal hit the winning run and we had a consolation win to enjoy after missing the Div 2 playoffs for the first time in club history. Scorecard
On Saturday morning, our Div 1 team took to the field in much different circumstances, with first place already guaranteed. The team must've been saving their best for the Finals, as we were all out for 95 off 18 overs and then took only one wicket in Avenger's reply. Arslan Khan was our best with the bat hitting 24 off 18, while skipper Zeeshan Ansari took our sole wicket. Scorecard
